Infant Dehydration
Dehydration is when the body does not have enough water to function at its best. Our bodies do not have a way of storing backup water when needed. For this reason, fluid intake is more important in the short term than food energy intake.
Nutrition for Lactation
Most families do not have the luxury of support systems that can routinely cook balanced nutritious meals for them while they recover during the postpartum period. When able, focus on foods and herbs that will help increase milk supply while ensuring adequate calorie and water intake.
